  1. What great flavor. This was a nice meal that didn't take much effort. The only thing I would change is to thicken the broth by adding 2 Tablespoons of quick cooking tapioca with other ingredients. It was to wet for the buns. I even used a slotted spoon. I also placed frozen chicken breasts in at the beginning and pulled it out to shred before serving. Put shredded chicken back in crockpot to warm. This was a very low calorie meal for those who are on weight watchers. I placed the sloppy chicken on a low-calorie hamburgher bun. I can get a hamburgher bun in my local grocery store that is only 1 point. Thanks again for such a tasty recipe.

  2. This tasted wonderful! I used about 6 lbs of chicken from split breasts and whole legs. The meat shredded nicely after a few minutes of constant stirring. I served on hamburger buns. I accidently added 2 Tbsp of mustard rather than 2 tsp, we loved it. Sweet and tangy; thanks for posting!

  3. This was good! The only difference is that I did cook the onions and celery in the butter to soften them before I placed them in the crock pot. It was delicious! Oh I did leave out the green pepper as I did not have one on hand.

  4. This was a very tasty recipe and easy to make! My extra touch was adding a tablespoon of diced jalapeno peppers. Not to hot, but added an extra kick!! This is a keeper!

  5. This was great! It was not like sloppy joes like I expected it to be. I used frozen grilled chicken strips instead of cooking chicken beforehand. Also, we were out of rolls so I baked some potatoes and used the chicken as a topping. YUM! Will definitely make again!

  2. It was my first time using my new crockpot and I'm really glad I chose this recipe because it turned out so well! I cut this recipe in half, used tomato sauce instead of ketchup and Dijon mustard instead of dry mustard. I put all the ingredients at the bottom and placed raw whole chicken breasts on top. After a few hours, I removed the breasts, sliced them up and mixed it in with everything else to cook the rest of the way. This cooked for maybe a little more than 4 hours on high for me since I didn't have as much time, but it still turned out great, and I also added a whole bunch of dried herbs and more salt and pepper near the last hour for more flavour, and thickened the sauce up with cornstarch and water. This was great with rice!

I live in Las Vegas. I was lucky enough to run into Recipezaar around Nov. 2000 and got hooked quickly. I am a cookbook collector and have been collecting recipes for as long as I can remember. My DH had to build in shelves for all my cookbooks! I like to dabble with OAMC and for a few years hosted the Budget/OAMC forum with some great people over there. Even though I don't work in the forum any longer I've set up a lot of cookbooks for the purpose of OAMC and stretching food that might be helpful. Please feel free to check them out! I go on food jags and cooking jags! Please come say hi to me and chat on facebook. I currently host a blog for saving money through finding deals and coupons if you are interested. Most of the time I try to cook and have a good dinner on the table but I'll be honest enough to say there is still fast food occasionally in the budget! I have had such wonderful support here whenever I need it. Thank you all for being here! Just a quick note on how I rate recipes: ? 5 stars - This recipe is perfect. (My DH is truly a critic and doesn't give 5's unless it's amazing) I would recommend it to others and would definitely make again. ? 4 stars - This recipe was good but I would change something in it next time. ? 3 stars - This is a recipe I would not make again but it was OK ? 2 stars - This recipe I would not make again and we didn't like it at all ? 1 star - This recipes did not work out/taste was unappealing and wouldn't make again
