  1. Cut ribs apart, if necessary and trim; sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt evenly over ribs.
  2. Stir together remaining 1 teaspoon salt, chopped onion, and next 9 ingredients until blended.
  3. Pour half of mixture into a 5 1/2 quart slow cooker.
  4. Place ribs in slow cooker; pour remaining mixture over ribs.
  5. Cover and cook on high 6 to 8 hours.
  6. Skim fat from sauce before serving.
