- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (12 ounce) can chopped tomatoes, drained
- 1 (12 ounce) can light kidney beans
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dry oregano
directions
- Brown ground beef in a nonstick skillet and add to slow cooker. Dump in remaining ingredients and cook on high 4-5 hours.

I started out with making the recipe as written but it was very tomato-y half way through cooking. I added another tsp of cumin, chili powder and about 1/4 cup of Franks Buffalo Wing Sauce. It was taste tested again 30 mins before end of cooking and it was still off on the tomato side so I added some lime juice and that pulled it back into line with chili flavor with less total tomato flavor. Having said all of that I realize that taste is a very personal thing and someone else could love it very much just as written so please take this review as my own experience and nothing more. The chili consistency, body and look are all right on. Made for PAC, Fall 2012
