  1. So nice to wake up to a hot cooked breakfast. The texture/consistency was just right after 6 hours in my slow cooker. Did stick a little to the sides of the cooker. Spraying with cooking spray at the onset may help eliminate that. The maple syrup added the right amount of sweetness. My family and I enjoyed this--thanks for sharing.

  2. Nice way to start off Fall with a hearty bowl of hot oatmeal. Makes a large amount. I added Splenda to my bowl because I thought is wasn't quite sweet enough for me, and drizzled a little maple syrup on top because that flavor didn't come through much. Very filling.

  3. Since my husband doesn't care for oatmeal, I halved the recipe. I used the dried blueberries, omitted the cranberries and maple syrup because of preference. Instead when ready to eat, I added a bit of butter, milk and Splenda to sweeten and it was fantastic. I found Quaker brand Steel Cut Oats for the first time and it was wonderful. I kept the leftovers airtight in the refrigerator and they were wonderful even the next day. I added about 2 to 4 tablespoons of milk before heating as well as a bit of butter and Splenda again and couldn't tell the difference from the first day.<br/>Thank you for posting this. It's a nice treat for a Sunday morning. :)
