GREAT SOUP!!! I agree with <a href="/member/292812">Chef #292812</a>'s comment about adding milk late in cooking to prevent curdling. HOWEVER, that leaves the main cooking time without enough fluid. I used just enough chicken broth to make sufficient fluid for cooking and it was good but would like to hear what others might have done about this problem.

Yum good soup :) i left out the worsshisire sauce and added carrots on prefrence. And what I did, and I think this is a good rule of thumb, is I left out the can of milk until the last 10 minuites, leaving it in there just long enough to heat sufficiently. That is what alot of recipes calling for any kind of cream reccomend, I bet that would help with the curdling :)

Awesome flavour! This recipe is so delicious & packed full of yummy vegetables. I left out the sausage as a personal preference & used fat-free evaporated milk. I have no complaints about the taste but this chowder is not at all appealing to the eye. It ends up an odd beige colour & looks almost curdled - I'm wondering if that is because of the fat-free milk. Nonetheless - a great recipe!

I'm retired, live in SW Florida and love to cook. I have a large cookbook collection that I enjoy looking thru for ideas. Every time I start cooking something, our 2 shiitzu puppies come running, waiting for me to drop something. For some reason they especially love lettuce, of all things (vegetarian dogs?). I do a lot of recipes in the crockpot so I'm always looking for new ones to add.
