Smoothie King Lemon Twist (Copycat)

"This is a copycat recipe of Smoothie King's Lemon Twist smoothie with strawberries. I haven't tried SK's banana lemon twist, but I assume that half a banana substituted for the strawberries would be about right."

  1. Waayyyy too heavy on the honey and sugar. Also really tough on the blender w/ all that ice.

  2. This is most assuredly NOT the Smoothie King smoothie it claims to be. Waaaaaaaay to much sugar is added to the drink, including an overpowering amount of honey. Also, while the ingredient list is correct, according to the SK description, the ratios are way off. And I would think twice before putting that much ice in a home blender. This recipe is not what it claims to be, not even close to the original Smoothie King favorite.

  3. My daughter and I enjoyed the fresh and tangy taste of this smoothie. I used fresh mango instead of papaya. Thanks for posting, Spectatrix Roxygirl

  4. I'm not sure why there's so much dislike for this recipe, I almost didn't try it but I'm happy I did because it tastes just like the Lemon Twist Strawberry our SK's make here in Houston. I swapped the Papaya for Frozen Peaches (I normally add Peaches to this drink before they stopped carrying the Peaches), I added like ½ a hand of Frozen Cherries (just because I had them), and I did 2 cups of ice because I drink slow and I like a thicker smoothie so it'll keep a little longer. I have a regular Ninja blender w/the IQ function, I blended it in the large (32 oz) blend & go cup that came with it. I ran it on Medium speed for 1 minute then on High speed for another minute and it was perfect. It's not allowing me to add a picture, but it even looks just like SK's!

  5. Very close to the real thing. In college I'd have about 5/6 of these a week. For people complaining about the ice, smoothie king uses big, powerful, industrial blenders. So if you don't have something like a blendtec or vitamix this isn't for you.
