ingredients

2 cups flour
¹⁄₄ teaspoon baking soda
¹⁄₄ teaspoon cream of tartar
¹⁄₂ cup butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk
¹⁄₂ teaspoon vanilla
1 ¹⁄₂ tablespoons sugar
¹⁄₂ teaspoon cinnamon
¹⁄₄ teaspoon salt

directions

stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in small bowl.
In another bowl, beat butter and 1 cup of sugar until fluffy.
add eggs, milk, and vanilla. Beat well.
add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, mix until well combined.
preheat oven to 400 °F.
form dough into 1" balls.
Roll balls on a plate with mixture of 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a lightly floured drinking glass.
bake for 8 minutes or until golden brown.
