Snowman Treats

"This recipe is from TOH. It did not list the chef's name. I made these today and they turned out really cute. I used an orange M & M for the nose instead of the candy corn and used white almond bark for coating. I didn't measure out the peanut butter either. I just spread the crackers straight from the jar."

  • 12 ounces white candy coating, coursely chopped (I just used white almond bark)

directions

  • Spread peanut butter on half of the crackers.
  • Top with remaining crackers to make sandwiches.
  • In a microwave, melt candy coating; stir to smooth.
  • Dip sandwiches in coating; allowing access to drip off.
  • Place on waxed paper.
  • Immediately position chips; 2 chips for eyes and 4 chips for mouth.
  • Add candy corn for nose.
  • For earmuffs, place a M & M on each side of face.
  • Connect ear muffs with a strip of decorating gel. I let mine dry and then did the decorating gel.
  • Let stand for 30 minutes or until set. My decorating gel is still not dry after 1 hour.

  1. An adorable addition to our cookie trays this year - my daughter helped me make these, and we'll be making another batch (or two!) for her classroom holiday party this year. Thank you!

  2. These were so cute and easy to make. My DH didn't think Ritz crackers and almond bark would taste good together, but he loved them. Now if I can just keep him out of them so I'll have some to take to a family dinner. The kids will love them. Thanks for a very cute idea.

  3. Yes, these were very cute! (and easy and tasty) I turned this recipe over to daughter#3 to work on, she had a great time. We still had candy corn in the freezer, so she used those for the nose, and used 5 mini chocolate chips for the mouth. Also didn't have piping gel, but used some already prepped royal icing (she had just finished decorating gingerbread people) for the ear muff attachment. Thanks for the idea, happynana!

I am a real estate agent along with my husband, Mike. I enjoy meeting people and helping them sell or find a home. I have been happily married for 27 years. We have 1 daugther and 3 grandsons. My favorite recipes are from Paula Deen. I love to cook and eat -- that is why I workout 5 to 6 times a week. I enjoy Bible study, cooking, working out at the gym and reading. My husband and I love spending time with our grandsons who live about 45 miles from us. We are quick to give Our Heavenly Father credit for all the wonderful blessings in our life. My pet peeves are greed and people who are always late. I love this site and it is so much fun. I have met many nice chefs while participating in the contests. I think it is unfair when chefs change an original recipe and then give a low rating. The way I will rate recipes: 5***** Delicious Recipes that we enjoyed and will want to have again and again. 4****Recipes that I would make again but make some changes. 3***Recipes that I would probably not try again without some major changes. I will not give a 1 or 2 rating as I know that the chefs that took time to enter the recipe felt it was deserving to share. I just have different tastes than them. <a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/Missymop/?action=view¤t=curriedcurrajongs.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/Missymop/curriedcurrajongs.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/boronia.jpg"><img src="http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z205/jubespage/AussieRecipeSwap.gif"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/PAC08Main.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Cooking-Kangaroo-1-1.jpg"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/PACfall08partic.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/IWasAdoptedfall08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w115/bugh8er/food%20and%20swaps/7016b640.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/flower753/Food/my3chefsnov2008.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/AMpageSticker.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/CookathonforKarensticker.jpg"><img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/Game%20Room%20Banners/AM%20Banners/KBparticipation.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/carolinamoon21/Ingredients/BANNERS/TagRed-STKR.jpg"><img src=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii31/bleupantry/RecipeZaar%20and%20other%20Food/Top%20Favs%20of%202008%20GAME/ParticipationBanner.jpg><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Participation.jpg"><img src="http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/kiwidutch/my3chefs2009final-1.jpg">
