  • Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, spices, molasses and baking soda well.
  • Add flour.
  • Chill at least one hour.
  • Drop by teaspoons and bake for 8 minutes.

  1. This recipe makes fantastic cookies and LOTS of them! The cookies are very soft and chewey! I added 1/2 tsp of nutmeg for a little extra flavour and rolled them in granulated sugar before baking. I baked them at 325F for 8-10mins, as the recipe didn't specify a cooking time. Enjoy!
