  1. I think this is a great snickerdoodle recipe! I shortened the baking time to 7 mins to keep them blonde. A perfect Holiday treat! Thank you!

  2. Sorry Nolan. Either your mom can't bake or she's a lousy teacher. Followed recipe to the letter two times and got dry, crumbly Snickerdoodles with no flavor both times.

  3. These are tasty and flavorful, but are not soft and chewy as the title says. I made them exactly as directed, but ended up with a crunchy cookie.

  4. Awesome recipe. If you let them in the oven til the middle is just starting to firm, they are nice and chewy. I added some of those cinnamon chips to the recipe for added sweet cinnamon goodness and they were a big hit.

  5. These are good cookies but thats it, just good. They didnt spread out and get flat. They stayed fairly balled up and kind of dry. The taste was just good not great. I'm going to try another recipe.

Tweaks

  1. These are delicious and easy to make! I substituted butter for the shortening and they turned out well. Usually, I freeze extra cookies, and when thawed these were still chewy and perfect with a cup of coffee. I bet they'd be good with a cup of Chai tea, too.

Hi! I am a stay at home mom to my sons, 5 year old Nolan, and 2 year old Blake. My husband works for a securities trading company, and in our spare time we enjoy trying new restaurants (which rarely happens anymore now that we're in parent land!), having friends over, and playing games. We recently moved from Kansas City to London...talk about a BIG change! I'm adjusting and really enjoying this new adventure. I'm trying to learn all the new brands and labels in the markets and figure out that darn metric system! I've enjoyed baking some of my favorite cookie recipes to cure homesickness, and look forward to trying some traditional English cuisine! Cheers!
