Questions & Replies

  1. Can you make the day before?

  2. Is there a version of these without a bread maker?

  3. Just put the rounds on some parchment and put the butter on top. My question is about covering them for an hour. If they are sticky, and we just added butter, what should I cover them with that won't stick? Or can I leave them uncovered for the hour? Thank you Mike

Reviews

  1. These are very tasty. My kids loved them! I used them as hamburger buns, but I'm sure it would make good dinner rolls too. I divided the dough into about 15 pieces, rounded them up and placed on a parchment covered sheet. The dough is moist - use some flour if you're shaping this way. I've made this recipe twice and raised the temp. to 375 the second time - browned better, might be just my oven, though. Very good! Thanks Marie!

  2. I took a risk and made these tonight in hopes that I could use them as sandwich rolls for lunches. Well, they did not make it past dinner. They actually ended up accompanying our lasagna dinner and the family LOVED them. They were easy to put together and they came out soft and flavorful. This recipe is a keeper!

  3. Very pretty soft rolls. If making these for sandwiches, I would use a larger cutter and brush with an egg wash instead of the butter. They didn’t have the nice yeasty flavor that I was hoping for.

  4. I just made these in my new breed machine, they came out perfectly. Just read a review which suggests using pulled pork will definitely try that, sounds delicious

  5. These are delicious! I make them weekly. I have tried the recipe with bread and all purpose flour. Both are great! My husband likes a real doughy bread so we only bake for 10 minutes and it's perfect! Dare I say that he admitted that these were better than his mom's bun recipe?!

Tweaks

  1. I used a larger cutter, brushed with an egg wash and sprinkle with an “everything” seed mix.
