  • Heat 1 quart of water and 5 tea bags in microwave for 6 minutes. Remove from microwave and allow to steep for 5-10 minutes.
  • Remove teabags and pour into gallon pitcher. Add remaining 3 quarts of water and 3/4 cup sugar. Stir and chill in refrigerator.

  1. I grew up on this type of iced tea. Once the tea was brewed, my mother would pour it into a 2-gallon stone crock (that had a lid), add the sugar and the additional water and leave it sitting on the kitchen counter. We would ladle room temperature tea over a glass full of ice and it was a summer "treat".
