  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a 6 quart saucepan. Brown the garlic. Add the onions and sauté until transparent. Blend the tomato paste with the water and add to the pan along with the crushed tomatoes and the spices. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
