Spaghetti Sauce Texan Style

"I have perfected this recipe by using several different recipes and mixing everything that tastes great. I let this simmer all day but it only has to have a couple of hours. It is even better if you store it in the fridge overnight and then use the next day."

  • Sauté bell pepper and onions on low about 15 minutes or until onions are clear and soft.
  • Add mushrooms and garlic and sauté until slightly browned.
  • Brown beef with bay leaves, oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, thyme and parsley.
  • Add tomato paste, sauce, diced and brown sugar.
  • Cover and simmer for at least 1 1/2 hours or all day.
  • Top cooked spaghetti with sauce and parmesan.
