  • In a large sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add dry rice as well as onion and garlic powders and cook for about 5 minutes or until rice becomes a golden brown.
  • Add in broth and then tomato sauce slowly to avoid splashing.
  • Stir and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer for 20-25 minutes (keep pot covered).
  • Fluff with a fork, and serve.

  1. This was really bland as written. I tasted it then added more garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and cumin. Then pretty tasty but as written just like tomato rice. Sorry it was just too bland for us.
