- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1⁄4 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 1⁄2 cups rice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 1⁄2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup tomato sauce
directions
- In a large sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat.
- Add dry rice as well as onion and garlic powders and cook for about 5 minutes or until rice becomes a golden brown.
- Add in broth and then tomato sauce slowly to avoid splashing.
- Stir and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer for 20-25 minutes (keep pot covered).
- Fluff with a fork, and serve.
