Spice Mix for Pork or Chicken

"Sprinkle, mix with breadcrumbs, or oil and brush it on, this has lots of possibillities and flavor. Try rubbing it on pork or chicken, wrap it up and leave in the fridge overnight. If you prefer leave the salt out and add that when you use the mix, that way you are in control over the amount of salt you use."

  1. This is a perfect spice mix for us!! I'm so glad I tried it. I just added a little salt to each chicken breast and only used 2 tsp smoked paprika. Delicious! Will use over and over. Made to honor Pets'R'us.

  2. Very reminiscent of a cajun or blackening seasoning, to my mind and tastebuds. We just loved the heat, and the depth of flavor imparted to the pork chops I rubbed this on. I reduced the recipe by half, and have enough for a couple more uses leftover, after the 4 chops! I also used my GF grill as it is 100F outside, and the meat got a nice 'crust' without any added fat. I will use this in some of the ways suggested, also. Keeper of a recipe, for me. Made to honor and remember Pets'R'Us.

  3. I made this on 5/11 for the " Pets 'R' us Cook-A-Thon. It was used on a couple of boneless, skinless chicken breasts which I broiled. As for the salt, I just spinkled some on the chicken before adding the spice mix. My SO and I both enjoyed the taste very much. Thanks for posting and " Keep Smiling :) "

  4. Excellent spice mix, I used it on a pork tenderloin and it turned out delicious with a nice bit of heat. i roasted the tenderloin as I would normally for about 30 minutes. Lovely flavourful dinner! Thanks for posting I will be using it regularly!!

  5. This blend is SO good! I used the 8 t. of salt, and used only 1 t. of cayenne as some of my family are wimps. I used it on chicken leg quarters that we grilled. Early int he morning I lightly drizzled the legs with olive oil and then generously sprinkled the spice mix. The flavor was amazing! I cannot wait to try this one pork as well.

Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am a very beautiful cat as you can see if you look at the picture at the top of this page.... What??.. I am supposed to talk about you??? But it says here: About Me!! Well all right then ...... My mom is Dutch and has moved to England in October 2007, after living 15 years in the Netherlands with my English dad. They don’t have any human children and “created” their own family, which means I have to share them with Hannah, she is a 6 years old tortie cat, Abby the dog, she is a 9 year old Beagle, and a one year old black Miniature Pincher named Poppy, I refuse to tell you my age but I am a georgious lilac British Shorthair cat!! It is obvious she adores pets just by looking at her name she uses on Zaar (many on Zaar call her Pets or Petsie Poo), her name in real life is Annelies and that is a common Dutch name. My mom always liked to cook, but since she joined Zaar it got out of control, and it doesn’t help that she is disorganized. Printed recipes everywhere in the house, the recipe binders have got bigger and just between you and me, her hips too!!! I have lived in Holland all of my life until now, but they lived in several different countries/places:- desert and coastal Oman, up North and West in Holland, Vancouver-Canada, Aberdeen- Scotland and in Norway they lived in Bergen and Oslo. We have all moved together to England, as you can see I’ve already learnt the language! I heard her say to Dad that this is the last time she moved to another country...she's had it with moving from one place to another! ( its her age...she's getting grumpy) Mom is 55 years old but I always hear her say that the date of her birthday does not mean that much to her, the date of her cancer anniversary is more important, because so far she is a survivor. Besides cooking she has other interests too, crafts, gardening and soap making. She likes Zaar and is one of the hosts on the German-Benelux Forum here on RecipeZaar. She would like to thank everybody who tries and comments on the recipes she has posted on Recipezaar, your feedback is very much appreciated.
