  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, butter, egg, salt, spices and vanilla.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, if necessary, until mixture is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add flour, beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well-mixed.
  5. If dough is too soft, cover and refrigerate until firm enough to form cookies, about 30-45 minutes.
  6. Place dough in cookie press, form shapes about 1 inch apart on cookie sheets, these cookies do not spread.
  7. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
  8. For Glaze, in a small bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle or pipe over warm cookies.
