  • In large saucepan over medium high, heat the oil. Add all the spices. Cook, stirring constantly for 30 seconds. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 6 minutes.
  • Add the apples and onion, then saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, broth and vinegar and bring to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes.

  1. This was not my favorite. Sorry I hate to say this but was horrible. Definitely have tried it. Maybe if I had added some tomatoes next time it probably will not be as bad
     
  2. I made a half recipe of this, but wish I had used the full amount of spices-we felt the dish was under-seasoned for our tastes. I was also not happy with the taste and texture after that final 10 minutes of cooking (I often cook my chili for a couple of hours) so cooked it a further 20 minutes. A good slug of tabasco lifted the flavour and I think some fresh coriander would also give the dish a boost. Thanks for posting a recipe that has plenty of promise though.
