ingredients
- 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (or my original thought was liquid smoke, but then learned I didn't have any)
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 8 1⁄2 lbs bone-in ham
directions
- 1. In a small bowl, wisk all ingredients together.
- 2. Pat ham dry with papertowel.
- 3. Schmear all over ham.
- I put mine in the slow cooker for 8 hours on low, or you could bake, roast, smoke, or grill the ham, depending on your preference. You could also marinate the ham before cooking, but I just didn't think about this until the morning of.
- I made a double batch of this to use as a dipping sauce as well. Delish!

I'm in love I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!! I NEVER leave reviews but I had to. If you are also not a fan of sweet meats THIS IS THE GLAZE!! Spicy brown/Dijon doesn't matter. And I too thought it was a tad bitter but had no honey so I used maple syrup. I can't WAIT to try this on chicken/turkey. Thank you for the deliverance from sweet glazes! Yaaaay

Not good at all. I don't really like sweet glazes so I thought I would give this a try but it was a total waste. The mustard gave the ham a sort of bitter taste and made the entire house smell like hotdogs....but not in a good way. Also, the cumin gave it an unpleasant, crunchy texture.
On the upside I was able to scrape most of it off and the taste hadn't penetrated too deeply but it's kind of a bummer because the skin is my favorite part :(

I used 1 tbsp of fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder. I doubled the recipe for my ham and really coated the whole thing. I thought the glaze was a little bitter so I added 3 tbsp of honey which did not make it sweet at all. I did not want sweet!! It is so hard to find ham recipes that are not sweet. This was so amazing!!

I am a nurse, only because there are not really any good culinary schools in my area.? I love to cook for my family and friends.? My best friend and I often bake then switch halves with the other, as we both have smaller families.? Double the yum, and easy on the pocket book too!!? :)
