Spider Cookies

"I loved when my mom made these fun no-bake cookies. They are really easy to make and have a very unique appearance. Great for Halloween/insect themes because they look like spiders! (Tip - My mom recommends China Lily brand noodles.)"

  1. This is a recipe my family has also made for years around the Holidays (Christmas too). We didn't always use the peanuts and they were still good. We always called them spider cookies (think of all of those legs). Yum! These would be easy to scoop using a cookie scoop.

  2. I made this for a themed party we had (horror/creepy things). I substituted Peanut Butter for the butterscotch chips as I don't think you can get them in Australia. The hardest part was keeping the house-mates out of the fridge so that there were some left for the party!

  3. The other name for this cookie (and many recipes on the wesite, I believe) is Ting A Lings. We have made these since we were little kids. I've only recently discovered that butterscotch chips have trans fat in them, so trying to find ones that don't! We make these every year for Christmas. Very easy to make - no bake. The only difference in my recipe is that it also has a 1 oz square of baking choc. melted in also.

  4. Although we didn't feel like these cookies resembled "spiders", we did like the taste of them very much. After sharing them with my parents, Dad said "keep this recipe", and Mom said she will try this with peanut butter chips instead of butterscotch!

  5. Yeah!!!! These are incredible. I enjoyed making these while I was in the US. Really unique and very creative cookies, plus tasty and memorable as well. A keeper!

I like baking fun treats way more than cooking an actual meal! My favorite things to make are muffins, cookies and pancakes. Since joining Zaar I've been making awesome meals. I can't believe I'm marinating and grilling and cooking like never before! My rating system: ***** - Fabulous! I loved it, everyone here loved it, and we can't wait to make it again! A keeper and a recipe I'd recommend. **** - Nice recipe! 'Good' as opposed to 'great', but still worth making again! *** - Not so hot. We didn't love it, but maybe it was just because of our palates. Won't make again, but not because there was something wrong with the recipe. ** - Disappointing. Something's not right, or turned out really bad or hardly edible. * - Does this recipe need to be proof read? I think something was missing or there was a typo because this recipe is totally un-useable.
