- 1 onion
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 3 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1⁄2 cup vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil
directions
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend well.
- Keeps refrigerated for weeks.

With some adjustments this could be very good. I reduced the serving to two, which called for 1/4 cup sugar - equal to the amount of combined oil and vinegar. I reduced this to about 2 tsps. and it was sweet enough, if I had used the original about it would have been inedible (the reason for two instead of 3 stars). Also I would recommend using a sweet onion or blanching your onion first. When I first tasted the dressing the onion was very present but good, by the time we ate our salad it had become so pungent and hot that I couldn't eat more than a few bites.
