  • Lay apricots so the insides are pointing downward.
  • First hour set dehydrator to 120 degrees.
  • Then move it up to 135 degrees for 7 more hours.
  • Apricots can be chopped up and used in fruitcake or special breads, or as a snack.

  1. This recipe sounds good, but the directions are as confusing!! Do you start with fresh apricots or with canned apricots in syrup?? What is the "syrup to soak fresh"...is that to soak the fresh apricots in, prior to drying them, so they don't discolor or to "freshen" the dried apricots?? My sister has an apricot tree and would love to know more about this recipe!

I grew up in the Midwest and from a Swedish family, so I love food. My grandmother doesn't normally measure when she cooks and I kind of picked that up from her. Most of my dishes can't be repeated due to this. I love experimenting!!
