Steamed Broccolini With Honey Soy Sauce

"From Taste.com - the original recipe included the use of 1 bunch of baby choy sum. if you wish to include this vegetable then separate the choy sum stems and add to the steamer for the last 1 to 2 minutes of steaming the broccolini."

  1. Made recipe as written, though I used fresh broccoli, and made for a frat side with dinner. The honey/soysauce mixture made for a real nice flavor. Made for PRMR tag.

  2. Very good and fast veggie side! Made as written, well I forgot to toast the sesame seeds but they were still good un-toasted. I liked that the honey made the soy sauce and ginger not so salty/tart tasting but not making the sauce too sweet. Made for 123Hits.

  3. I made this recipe with broccoli instead and WOW this is great!<br/>Everything was as per recipe BUT once again, as usual I forgot to use the sesame seeds. I got them all ready, but just forgot them, found them in the oven a few hours later!....lol<br/>But we loved this Pat, such a change from the normal old cheese and broccoli. So easy and quick to prepare and I will be making this more often. I bet it taste's even better with sesame seeds! ;-)

  4. Sweet and salty come together to make a nice side. We like Broccolini but had to use Rabe-Rappini instead as that is all I could get at the store. The description state baby steamed bok choy was added to the broccolini just before it was sauce and believe would be something we might like to try next time. Thanks for the post.

  5. I saw broccolini in the store the other day (first time I'd seen it!), so had to grab this recipe!! Delicious. Made for Potluck tag.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

With the demise of the forums and with no more interaction on site with what was a great community and it was a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and to have had the privilege of meeting some of you in person. For me now this is just another recipe site like to many on the net, it has lost its specialness, such a pity especially when Scripps changed the name from Recipezaar to Food.com and made this statement sorry cannot replicate here as considered invalid but they basically said yes the community was valuable hence .com was short for community but it was a pack of lies as they were not willing to put the money into that community and got rid of the forums which was the community so for .com has become .crap.
