Strawberry and Spinach Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing

"For those who haven't tasted this type of salad, I highly recommend it! Sounds a little odd if you're not used to fruit in a green salad, but it's absolutely delicious. Recipe from Edmonton Journal paper."

  1. I am a big fan of strawberry Spinach Salads with the Poppy Seed dressing, but this dressing was a little tart for me. I found another recipe very similar that used white vinegar instead of cider vinegar and will use that as a substitution in the future as well as increasing the sugar to 1/3 cup. I guess I just prefer a sweeter dressing.

  2. I really loved this salad, Lizeroo! The dressing was perfect in its sweetness and I appreciated that it didn't separate (with the seeds falling to the bottom). I subbed a tiny bit of balsamic for the worcestershire (since my bottle came crashing down and broke!) Roxygirl

  3. I really enjoyed this salad dressing, and it went over very well at a large party. I used Bibb lettuce and spinach. I used mainly white wine vinegar, but with a tablespoon of cider. I added an extra tablespoon of sugar. I also added blueberries and sliced cucumbers, which went well with the strawberries. The salad tasted fresh and healthful. Thanks for a great recipe!

  4. This is a wonderful salad recipe-my favorite, I make it at home all the time, very light and fresh tasting. I took it to a pot luck and it was enjoyed by everyone-kept getting requests for the recipe. One thing I would suggest is to add the dressing to the individual servings unless you know it will all be ate up, otherwise it gets soggy and not good for leftovers-love this salad!!

  5. I just used the dressing from this recipe to dress a simple salad of strawberries and baby spinach. It was super-easy to make and very tasty!
