“This is so good on warm homemade bread. If you like both berries, you will love this combo. Only thing is it makes small batches. I have not tried doubling this, as that can be kinda iffy when canning. This makes great gifts as it is kind of unusual. For safety reasons I always boiling water bath for 15 to 20 minutes.”

Directions

  1. Combine cherries, strawberries and sugar in pan.
  2. Over medium low heat stir until all sugar is dissovled.
  3. Increase heat and boil for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add lemon juice and almond extract.
  5. Bring back to a boil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until mixture reaches jelling stage.
  6. Pour into hot stearilized jars and seal.
