  1. stuff each date with pecan half.set aside.
  2. beat butter with mixer, till light.
  3. add brown sugar and mix well.add egg.mix well.
  4. Combine dry ingredients and whisk well.
  5. add flour mixture and sour cream to egg mixture -- stir till well incorporated --
  6. fold in stuffed dates.
  7. drop from a spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.1 date per cookie.
  8. bake in a 375* oven for 8-10 minutes.
  9. remove to rack to cool.
  10. Meanwhile prepare FROSTING:.
  11. heat butter in saucepan over medium heat till golden brown.do not burn --
  12. remove from heat, stir in 3 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla and enough water to make drizzling consistency.
  13. drizzle over cooled "stuffed dates".
