Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 large onion
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Form ground beef into 8 equal patties.
  2. Slice onion into 4 medium-thick slices (depending on preference).
  3. Place onion slice between 2 meat patties and pinch edges together. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Brown patties on both sides.
  5. Combine soup and 1 can of water; Pour over patties; Cover and simmer for 45 minutes on top of stove, turning a couple of times to cook meat and onion completely.
  6. Serve covered with gravy (over mashed potatoes, rice or toast, if desired).
