Stuffed Turkey Burger

"This is such an amazing burger, you won't even know it's turkey! If you aren't one to like really spicy, I highly suggest skipping the sauce and just using typical burger toppings."

directions

  • Combine sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Preheat grill over medium-high heat.
  • Add garlic, onion, turkey, mustard, soy sauce, salt and pepper to large mixing bowl.
  • Mix well (this is easier with your hands).
  • Divide the turkey into 8 equal-sized balls and flatten into patties.
  • Lay 2 slices of cheese on 4 of the patties and cover each with another patty.
  • Pinch the edges to seal the patties closed so the cheese won't melt out.
  • With your thumb, press down on the center of the patty; this will keep the juices locked in and prevents the burger from getting puffy.
  • Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper, to taste, and brush with olive oil. Grill for about 2 minutes per side.
  • Remove from grill and set aside; toast buns on grill and remove.
  • Grill the burgers until cooked through, about 5 to 6 minutes per side.
  • Transfer the burgers to buns and top with spicy mayo sauce, lettuce and grilled tomatoes.
