Summer Morning Oatmeal

"This may be an accquired taste; I discovered it out of necessity (although I have a suspicion it might be a conglomeration of recipes I have found here on Zaar...). I think it is delicious and even more importantly, one of the most filling things I've ever had."

directions

  • Mix yogurt and oatmeal in microwavable bowl.
  • Heat on HIGH 30 seconds.
  • Add frozen fruit.
  • Heat for another 30 seconds.
  • Stir.
  • Let sit for a minute or so; the flavors blend and the fruit thaws a little more if you do.
  • Add sugar if you'd like (the last time I made this my strawberries were a bit too tart).

  1. Made this for my son an I for breakfast. I followed the recipe as written other then I added some milk. I also had to cook mine a bit longer. We enjoyed this as it was something different for breakfast. Made for Spring PAC 2009.

  2. So glad I decided to make this for PAC!! I used strawberry soy yogurt, and the crowning glory was my own wild strawberries (frozen). Added a few Tbsp. of water so the oats would have something to soak up. A yummy light breakfast or satisfying snack :-)

  3. I lost the flavour of the yoghurt, so tried it again adding half way through, it didn't taste quite right, sorry

I love to bake, especially when I can try different flavors and unusual combinatins. Someday I'd love to own a bakery, but for now I'm still just experimenting.
