"I found this recipe in a book about science. I made it for my kids and they thought it was great. Its great for kids of all ages. It's fun to play with but DO NOT EAT!"

ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup cornstarch
- 1⁄2 cup water
directions
- Stir all together in a pan or large bowl.
- Add more cornstarch or water if needed.
- Add food coloring for color.
- Before each time playing add water.

I have no idea why I had problems with this, but after using twice the amount of cornstarch, my mixture was still too liquidy to play with. At that point I ran out of cornstarch, so it will remain a mystery. My suggestion would be to start with a little water at a time until desired consistency is reached. Thanks for sharing! -
This is a neat way to show students the properties of matter... it is something that can go from a solid to a liquid w/ touch depending on the amount of cornstarch/water used. It it VERY messy though- I personally would suggest you make it outside, with a hose handy, and for you to not add the food coloring. I had to hose my students and classroom down after we made this. Thanks for sharing! -
This was easy and didn't make a mess. My kids loved it and are going to keep playing with it. It is a great family activite.
