Super Simple Banana Pudding

"This banana pudding is super simple and very, very good. I used to make my banana pudding from scratch and then discovered this pudding. It is by far better tasting, easier and the most requested recipe. You can use name brand or generic ingredients. (The lady who made it the first time I tasted it told me that she only uses generic brands.) I normally only use name brand ingredients when cooking but I was being asked to make it so often for work that it was getting too expensive for me. I switched to generic and noone noticed the difference. Either way it is very yummy. Cooking time is chill time."

directions

  • Stir together the pudding and whole milk. Let set for a few minutes.
  • Add the whipped topping and sweetened condensed milk to the pudding, mixing well. Let this set while preparing first layer.
  • Evenly layer in 13 X 9 dish, 1/2 box of vanilla wafers, 2 1/2 bananas, sliced, (approx. 1/4" slices) and 1/2 the pudding mixture.
  • Repeat the 3 layers making sure bananas are completely covered. If a banana peeks through it will turn brown.
  • Refrigerate, preferably overnight or at least a few hours before serving.
  • Enjoy!

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I am the mother of 2 grown children, a girl 28 and a boy 21. I was married to the love of my life for 29 years until cancer stole him from me in early 2008. I love to cook and my husband loved to eat my cooking. I always believed that meal time was a very important time as a family. My daughter is my next door neighbor and my son lives at home while attending college, so I still have chances to fix meals and enjoy eating as a family. I love looking at cookbooks and browsing through recipes on the web. Even if I don't get to fix every one, I just like to look. The office I work at has about 75 employees and we always think of reasons to bring food to share. Everyone is always anxious to try whatever I bring. I love to bake all kinds of cookies and make all kinds of candy at Christmastime. I am most called upon for my VERY hot cinnamon hard candy. All of my posted recipes are dishes that I have cooked at least one time. I do not post recipes that I have not tasted.
