  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Melt chocolate and shortening in sauce pan. Remove from heat. Mix in sugar, eggs, flour, salt, and walnuts. Pour mixture into a greased and floured pan (11 1/2” x 14” or 15 1/2” x 10 1/2”).
  2. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. Frosting: Place all ingredients (except vanilla extract) in pan. Stir over low heat. Bring to a full boil for 1 minute; remove from stove and beat by hand until WARM to LUKEWARM (no more than that or it will become to thick). Stir in vanilla extract. Spread on brownies and allow to cool (it hardens as it cools).
