ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1⁄2 lb ground veal
- 1⁄2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1⁄2 cup evaporated milk
- 1⁄4 cup drippings or 1/4 cup fat
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ginger
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄4 teaspoon allspice
directions
- Blend all ingredients except drippings. Form in small balls. Brown in drippings, shaking skillet so balls brown evenly. Cover pan tightly and steam for 15 minutes.
