Sweet and Savory Thai Peanut Sauce

"This sauce is great with anything from salad to pizza!!!! You just won't be able to get enough!.** Though the recipe calls for smooth pb, i find that just natural unsweeted works best**(thanks Dreamer!)"

  • Dissolve corn starch in 1/2 cup of cold water and set aside.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the soy sauce, peanut butter, brown sugar, white vinegar, sesame oil and 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Simmer and stir until sugar has dissolved. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer until sauce is thick, or 1-2 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.

  1. This was very good. I modified it a little...I couldn't find the corn starch so I omitted it and the water that it was dissolved in. Also, I only used 1 cup of water and I used 1 c of brown sugar. I guess I like it sweet.
     
  2. I made this for DD today. She liked it and would have liked it even more if it was less sweet. Next time I'll try it with natural, unsweetened peanut butter. Thanks for posting.
