ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 cup finely chopped water chestnut
- 1 1⁄4 cups soft breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- 1 lb ground beef

sauce
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar
- 1⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
directions
- in a large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients.
- crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
- shape into 1 inch balls.
- place in a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan.
- bake, uncovered , at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.
- meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the first 5 sauce ingredients until smooth.
- add onion.
- bring to a boil.
- cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- drain meatballs.
- top with sauce.
