Sweet and Sour Sauce

- 1⁄4 cup cold water
- 1⁄4 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1⁄4 inch fresh ginger, peel, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1⁄4 cup warm water
- 1 dash salt
directions
- In bowl, combine cold water, vinegar, sugar, salt and soy sauce.stir well to dissolve sugar, then stir in ginger and garlic.
- Transfer mixture to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.stir in apricot jam, mixing well.
- Do not allow this to come to a boil.
- In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water, add to vinegar mixture and bring to a boil.as soon as it comes to a boil, remove from heat and let cool before serving.
- Store unused sauce in tightly capped container in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Fantastic! I would give it 10 stars if I could. This is by far the Best Sweet and Sour sauce that I have ever tasted, and I am so glad to have found this recipe. Especially since it had all good ingredients, and no ketchup. I made this to go with some Asian Meatballs, and the sauce was so good on them that I also decided to serve it with my homemade eggrolls!Thank You!

I love cooking, and reading Christian fiction..I have 5 grandchildren..4 boys and 1 spoiled granddaughter...I also have a black cocker spaniel named Tobey..who is very spoiled..Love computer games, cross stitch and reading cookbooks..I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia almost a year ago, on September 26, 2005....was in an out of the hospital for 8 months, doing intensive chemo...I am doing well now, thanks for all the prayers...
