Sweet and Sour Sausages

"This recipe is from the 2009 cookbook, Taste of Home's Best Holiday Recipes, & the sausages not only make a nice appetizer for a group, but they're also tasty over a bed of brown rice when serving 4!"

  1. This is going to be our new go-to sausage appetizer! DH loved it and has requested it for all of our get together. Usually because of the ease we just throw the sausages in a crockpot with a bottle of BBQ, but no more. These are very flavorful! Made as is, but cut the sugar to 1/4 cup. Thanks for posting!! Made for 1-2-3-Hits February 2010.

  2. Interesting dish! Not sure where the "sour" comes from, yet there's so much "sweet" with the peaches, ketchup, and chili sauce that I'd omit the 3/4 cup sugar next time. I'd also drain the smokies first before throwing them into the pan with the butter. I served this over rice, although as appies with toothpicks would be nice, too! Thanks, Sydney Mike! Made for my PAC Fall 2009 co-host.

  3. I made these last weekend from that cookbook, and I came home with an empty casserole dish! Very easy to make and I was asked for the recipe from 3 people. Will definately make again.
