  1. In skillet cook onion in hot butter 5 minute or until tender and lightly browned. Cool.
  2. In food processor combine cooked onion, sour cream, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Cover; process until nearly smooth.
  4. Transfer to bowl.
  5. Stir in basil.
  6. Cover; chill at least 1 hour.
