I deliver meals on wheels to housebound senior citizens. A southern gentleman on the route asked if I'd make him sweet potato cake. That was totally foreign food to me, but thanks to this recipe, I sure did make an old man happy. Just as he remembered and it certainly made his day. I made two loaves and kept one. Now we know why sweet potato cake is one of his favorites--very tasty indeed. Thanks, BlueBonnet, for making us all happy.

I am originally from Long Island, NY. I miss the food there. I miss bagels, pizza , crisp italian bread , a Sabrett hot dog, half sour pickles ,Italian pastries, a knish, and the Mets...forgetaboutit!!
But now I live in Texas. North of Houston. I've had my fare share of Mexican food. The pizza is horrible and what is up with the Chinese take out food? You can't get a pint or a quart. Its one size only and its expensive.
The best places I lived: Virginia, Okinawa, Japan and Mechanicsburg, Pa.
The worst place I lived: a tie between Keflavik, Iceland and Alabama.
Favorite vacation: Cancun & Italy.
