  • 6 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 cup onion, chopped
  • 14 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon steak sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Rinse and pat dry the pork.
  • Season chops with salt and pepper and let stand 20 minutes, or better yet, overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Place chops in a 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
  • Sprinkle with the onion.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the water and steak sauce and pour over the chops.
  • Bake for 1 hour, covered.
  • In a medium bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of the pan drippings (dicard any more than that), the barbecue sauce, sugar and hot pepper sauce.
  • Pour over the chops, turning chops to coat in the sauce and now continue to bake UNCOVERED, for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the chops and bake 5 minutes more.

  1. Great pork chops! I made mine on the grill, but the sauce is excellent and so simple. I marinated the chops in the sauce for a while before grilling. Great flavor. Thanks for posting.

After all these years I'm trying to get all my index cards and clippings, that still sound interesting to me, posted here so that I can find them and eventually make them! <br /> <br />I've posted some of my Mom's recipes. I regret not having paid more attention to my Grandmothers' cooking. They made some dishes that I miss and there were/are no recipes for them. <br /> <br />I have a wonderful DH and 2 wonderful sons. They are thrilled that I found this site since they directly benefit from it! Before finding 'Zaar, I was less of a cook and more of a recipe collector but now I try many more things and we're having more fun in the kitchen (at least I am)! <br /> <br />Thanks for all your ratings, comments and help in the forums AND for posting so many great recipes. You've enhanced my cooking skills and expanded my horizons! I've learned so much. <br /> <br />For fun, I also like to read fiction, travel, see movies and shows, shop (and I love to browse thrift shops and rummage/garage sales for cookbooks, etc.). <br /> <br />The discovery of a new dish does more for the happiness of mankind than the discovery of a new star Brillat-Savarin</p>
