  1. This is a GREAT soup ~ chunky and spicy, and full of warming goodness! I used toni's idea and used recipe#102243 for the Ranch Dip Mix, and I used recipe#76616 for the Taco Seasoning (my fave). This was quick and easy to make for a weeknight dinner. Loved it! Made for SOUP'S ON ~ DIABETIC FORUM TAG, January 2010!

  2. Oh loved this. I am on a personal mission to make all of your 250 + recipes. This soup is an utterly mooving taste sensation, with the absolutely brilliant use of hominy, beans, and Rotel. I also really liked the addition of the Ranch Dressing, as it gave undertones of smoothness that doesn't usually come with using taco flavoring alone. I used chopped Chocolate Congo Habanero's, a bit of chicken broth instead of the water, and 1/4 cup of V8. I would recommend this to anyone children and parents alike. Stupdendious, Nimz! Thanks! 3. I added grated cheddar cheese and tortilla chips. Nicely seasoned.I had everything on hand yes even the hominy. I think sweet corn would be good in place of the hominy.I cut the cooking time in half.

  4. My family really enjoys this recipe. I make it often in the fall and winter months. It makes a large amount but is just as tasty reheated. Highly recommended!!

  5. I made a few substitutions in this recipe that really demonstrate the versitility of this recipe. Rather than using ground beef, my soup used lean ground turkey. In addition, the canned chilis and hominy were replaced with their freshly prepared counterparts. (BTW: Used Ranch Dip Mix Recipe #102243 which seemed to be quite good for this.) I really loved this one and enjoyed the use of hominy rather than the more commonly used corn. The Rotel tomatoes were also a welcome ingredient. This made a HUGE pot of soup that will last for many days. On the first night, it was served with Bisquick Corn Cakes (or Corn Sticks) Recipe #107548. Thanks NimrodCook.

I was one of the original members of Recipezaar that was truly a community of individuals that enjoyed each other in forums and chat rooms. I've been a member of this site since 2003. Made some tremendous friends that I still think of often. I'll continue coming here because my recipes are here and so many more that I tried over the years as a member. It's just a tad boring now and just another recipe site like all the rest. Sad.
