"My Grandmother told me that her mother used to make a topping similar to this to put on the top of her breads. I added the brown sugar to make it extra tasty. Try this on Recipe #90502."

ingredients

¹⁄₄ cup white sugar
¹⁄₈ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 egg

directions

Combine all ingredients until well mixed.
Brush on top of bread after it has risen and just before browning begins. (This is usually within the last hour to 45 minutes for me).

This was a very tasty topping for recipe #346430 - although I did leave out the egg, as since it is a quick bread, I wasn't sure how it would affect the rise. It added a lovely sweet crunch to the loaf, which I really enjoyed! I intend to try this on my next sweet yeast based bread, so I can try it with the egg, too. Thanks for posting! Made for PAC Fall 2009.
