Tequila Lime Chicken

"I got this recipe from a news report. A guy was on probation and came back from lunch. He had to submit to a breathalyzer. He failed. He claimed that he didn't drink but only ordered a burrito at a stand. The judge then had the burrito stand give up the recipe. They did another breathalyzer after eating the burrito. Sure enough, even though it is cooked, all of the alcohol doesn't leave. Just be forewarned!"

  1. Being Texan I had to give this a try and woohooo, it was great! Everyone loved it, could not figure out what I did to the chicken....one word...Shiner Bock ZWT5

  2. WOW! Delicious recipe. Great to make ahead and cook on the grill. I used Samuel Adams and Red Hook Beer and of course Jose Cuervo. The combination of these ingredients made this chicken awesome and tender. Great raves! Thanks for sharing, turned out to be a big hit with my family and friends! Made for ZWT3 Cheers ~V

  3. Beautiful presentation for this recipe. i wish my camera was working! I made this ZW3 I used Cuervo 1800 for the tequila and let my DH pick the beer. It is a great recipe. I sauted the onions and green peppers in a little olive oil. Perfect flavor for them. I also tossed in some dried red chile peppers (New Mexico Girl)which gave a spicy kick. Definitely one of my favorites of the Tour. Slam Dunk Mulligan!

  4. *Made for ZWT III* This chicken was very good. I used "Fat Tire" amber beer and "Samuel Adams Black Lager" beer. I had marinated the chicken for about 15 hours when our dinner plans changed. I drained off the marinade, covered the chicken and put it back in the refrigerator until the "following" day. I wasn't sure if the recipe was going to work out, but it did. Also, I seasoned the meat while it was cooking with some salt, pepper, and garlic powder. My family really enjoyed this and gave it 2-thumbs up. Thank you for sharing this great recipe.

My husband and I love to cook - and it shows ;) Grew up in North Carolina, married a wonderful guy from South Carolina but to make the cooking more interesting, we moved to Colorado. We're trying to eat more healthy, so we've cut back on our red meats and have added "vegetarian night" to experiment with our cooking. My motto in life is, "Why not?"
