The Best Apple Pudding

"This is my favourite apple dessert. This recipe came from my mother and we had this many times growing up. Use enough apples to generously cover the bottom of the dish. So Yummy!"

  1. I think this is now MY favourite apple dessert!! This is a wonderful recipe...5 stars plus! I think I may have overdone it a bit on the apples, though. I couldn't fit all of the sauce in the baking dish (but got most of it in there) I had to bake for a little longer (about 45 min.), but I also have a whacky oven, so that may have been the culprit. Definitely going in my "Favorites" recipe box!! Thanks, bert:) ~Manda

  2. Thanks Bert! I too couldn't figure out how all the sauce was going to fit into an 8x8 pan after all the apples and batter but a hole or two punched through the batter let all the extra sauce dribble in down between the apple slices to produce a really great apple dessert! This was easy, a little like apple crisp and tasty like an apple pie. I'm guessing that this will be my apple dessert of choice in the future.

  3. Lovely apple pudding! I added a handful of raisons to this as I love raisons and the flavours were wonderful....reminded me of the fall season but I would eat this pudding any time of the year ! Thanks, Bert, for sharing this special dessert!

  4. Family and guests loved this pudding. I added a handful of fresh cranberries to the apples and it was delicious! The sweet sauce and apples were great with the tangy cranberries. Thanks for a quick and tasty dessert Bert!

I love to cook and so I am thrilled that I found recipezaar. I work as an educational assistant in a food school so I am around food all day long. I have four children, three of which have already flown the coop so to speak but I still have my 'baby' at home. (He's 21). I am lucky in that I have my summers off so I spend a lot of time trying new recipes and catching up on my reading. I also play soccer in a ladies league to stay in shape.
