Directions

  1. Brown meat slowly and spoon off excess fat.
  2. Add next 5 ingredients to meat and simmer uncovered until thick (45 minutes to an hour), stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook noodles in boiled salted water until tender and drain. Rinse in cold water.
  4. Combine cottage cheese with next 5 ingredients.
  5. Place half the noodles in 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Spread the cottage cheese mixture over meat mixture.
  6. Cover with noodles and sliced mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
  8. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before cutting into squares. Filling will set slightly.
