The Greatest Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies!

"This has been my recipe for cc's (as my kids call them) for as long as I can remember. Do not substitute for the shortening - it makes a thick, crispy cookie. Bet you can't eat just one!"

  3. Wonderful! We made these into lots of little cookies. They were all so tender and beautiful! I served them at a meeting and we ended up having to work around the one guy because his mouth was always full with cookies! Needless to say, they were a big hit. These will be the only choc chip cookies I will ever make again! Thanks for posting!

  4. My 10-year old son was wanting a cookie pizza to take to school for his classmates for his birthday. We went to the store to get one, but they didn't really look very good. So, we decided to try to make our own. We searched Recipezaar for a chocolate chip cookie recipe that had good reviews and would turn out thick and chewy. This recipe worked perfect! We made 3/4 of a recipe and split it between 4 pie plates. We omitted the nuts and baked for about 5 minutes longer than is called for cookies. I posted pictures of the undecorated and decorated versions. They cut into slices perfectly and we were very excited with the results! Thanks for helping us make this a special birthday.

  5. You're right, Marie, you can't eat just one. These are absolutely wonderful. They are not too sweet as many chocolate chip cookies are. They are perfect. Thanks for posting!
