" This Old House " Dressing

"This dressing was first brought to my attention by my SIL, who found it in a local fund raising/awareness cookbook called Breast of Friend. This cookbook has been researched, tried and put together by volunteers in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. The salad I use most frequently is not the one in the cookbook but one I have put together. The dressing gets better as it sits. Prep time does not include the time the dressing sits. NOTE: Do not have to make my lettuce salad, try it on your own favorite lettuce salad. I add 3/4 cup of Salad Crunchy mix found at Nutters, it is a combination of toasted sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, soybeans and sesame seeds."

  1. This is fabulous. Every time I serve it to company I am asked for the recipe. I make it lower calorie, and lower carb by using low fat and sugar free ingredients, and it is still delicious. Also, to serve as a dip for vegetables, I sub Greek yogurt for the buttermilk. Leftovers are easily thinned with a little milk to use on a salad. Without a doubt this is our new favourite dressing

Hi. I live in Saskatchewan Canada in a town, population 17,000. I have lived here about 26 years. I work in a dentists office as a Dental Hygienist. I have 4 children, all girls, ages 43, 39, 33, 25 plus 2 granddaughter, 21 and 15 and 1 grandson age 10 and 1 great granddaughter age 1. When I was growing up I learned to cook from my mom and I still love to cook. My sister has made two cookbooks and I helped her with the last one. My favorite cookbook are like the ones my sister did, the family favorites and community organization cookbooks.</p>
