  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. CAKE: Cream butter and sugar together. Add 1 egg at time mixing well. Add vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Mix butter and sugar mixture with flour mixture.
  5. Fold in sour cream, apples, and toffee pieces.
  6. TOPPING: Mix flour, brown sugar, butter, and toffee pieces.
  7. Pour cake mixture into a greased and floured 9 by 13 inch pan.
  8. Place topping on top of batter pressing down slightly.
  9. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 min until set.
  10. Let cool.
