  1. In a saucepan, heat the oil, garlic, onion and red pepper flakes over medium-high heat cooking for 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 10 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano and salt stirring well and cook 5 minutes over medium-high heat.
  4. Add reserved tomato juice and bring to a boil over high heat.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Let cool to room temperature and process to a smooth consistency in a food processor.
  7. Sauce can be frozen for up to one month.
