  • Sift together flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Stir in oil and eggs.
  • Add remaining ingredients and pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tests done.
  • Cool completely before frosting.
  • For Frosting: Combine all ingredients and frost cake.
  • Keep covered and refrigerated.

  2. This was the best everyday cake that I have ever made--even though we had it without the frosting. Although I didn't use the nuts (as my son doesn't like nuts) the four of us loved this cake and devoured every crumb. This was the perfect ending to a spicy Chinese meal. Thanks Marie for posting this delicious keeper. We will be having it again very soon.
